Description ( 1 )

Peter Wertmann is a Swiss fashion designer and multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the intersection of vulnerability and protection through sculptural garment design. With formative roots in the cold-weather sports culture of the Swiss Alps and the discipline of military service, Wertmann’s collections investigate themes of survival, memory, and identity in a rapidly shifting cultural and ecological landscape.
Through material experimentation, architectural tailoring, and a strong conceptual foundation, his work redefines the role of fashion as both wearable shelter and expressive language. Drawing on personal experience across global cities such as Tokyo, New York, London, and Amsterdam, he constructs garments that mirror the tension between individual freedom and systemic control.
